Perfil de competencias del ingeniero del siglo XXI

Abstract

Las organizaciones del siglo XXI buscan alcanzar el éxito empresarial, para lo cual demandan competencias laborales del talento humano, donde se afiancen cualidades que permitan trascender fronteras. Los ingenieros son profesionales formados para mejorar la calidad de vida de las sociedades a través de la satisfacción de necesidades humanas de orden tecnológico que permitan el desarrollo de un colectivo, todo ello basado en un conocimiento científico, bajo una episteme racionalista; sin embargo, este siglo ha permeado las requisiciones de los perfiles solicitados por las diversas organizaciones favoreciendo la incorporación de competencias, habilidades o destrezas basadas en la ética, el humanismo, relaciones interpersonales, empatía, respeto, entre otras, a fin de ser competitivas. El objetivo del presente ensayo es describir el perfil de competencias del ingeniero del siglo XXI. Se realizó un análisis documental para la comprensión de la temática abordada. Se concluye que para el desarrollo deseable del ingeniero se incorporan las competencias laborales como atributos necesarios para su óptimo desenvolvimiento.

The organizations of the 21st century seek to achieve business success for which they demand labor skills of human talent where qualities that allow transcending borders are strengthened. Engineers are professionals trained to improve the quality of life of societies through the satisfaction of human needs of a technological nature that allow the development of a group, all based on scientific knowledge under a rationalist episteme, however, this century has permeated the requirements of the profiles requested by the various organizations favoring the incorporation of skills, abilities or skills based on ethics, humanism, interpersonal relationships, empathy, respect, among others in order to be competitive. The aim of this essay is to describe the competency profile of the 21st century engineer. A documentary analysis was carried out to understand the topic addressed. It is concluded that for the desirable development of the engineer, labor competencies are incorporated as necessary attributes for their optimal development.
