Venezuela o Guyana, ¿Quién gana (en) el Esequibo? Claves para entender una disputa histórica

Abstract

Con el diferendo territorial por el Esequibo, América Latina, la llamada “zona de paz” por excelencia, atraviesa uno de los momentos de mayor tensión entre dos de sus países: la República Bolivariana de Venezuela y la República Cooperativa de Guyana. Este análisis revisa la disputa histórica entre ambos países y ofrece claves jurídicas, geográficas, de política exterior, regionales y de coyuntura para su comprensión.

With the territorial dispute over the Essequibo, Latin America, the socalled “peace zone” par excellence, is going through one of the tensest moments between two of its countries: the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Cooperative Republic of Guyana. This analysis reviews the historical dispute between the two countries and offers legal, geographic, foreign policy, regional and conjunctural keys to its understanding.
