La especificidad del positivismo venezolano en la obra de Laureano Vallenilla Lanz

Abstract

En este artículo se pretende identificar el contexto en medio del cual se genera la recepción del positivismo europeo en Venezuela a finales del siglo XIX y principios del siglo XX, especialmente se busca observar la propuesta teórica de esta corriente sociológica a través de los textos de Laureano Vallenilla Lanz y las diferentes interpretaciones que existen sobre sus contenidos, esto con la intención de abogar por la caracterización de especificidad de pensamiento del positivismo criollo en la obra de Vallenilla sobre la tipificación contrapuesta de originalidad a ultranza o simple imitación europea que han construido dos de las principales corrientes historiográficas del país.

This article aims to identify the context in which the reception of European positivism is generated in Venezuela at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, in addition, it seeks to observe the theoretical proposal of this sociological current through the texts of Laureano Vallenilla Lanz and the different interpretations that exist on its contents, this with the intention of advocating for the characterization of the specificity of thought of Creole positivism in Vallenilla’s work on the opposing typification of originality at all costs or simple European imitation that have built two of the main historiographic currents of the country.
