María Lionza: diosa-madre del mito venezolano desde una introspectiva histórica y psicoanalítica

Abstract

El presente artículo tiene como propósito examinar los aspectos históricos y psicodinámicos que rodean el culto a María Lionza como deidad ancestral femenina del mito venezolano. Lo mítico representa una verdad absoluta en los sistemas de representación de la humanidad, además las fantasías pulsionales en la psiquesoma de las sociedades arcaicas y sueños reprimidos del homo sapiens; siendo, María Lionza la Diosa-Madre que cumple satisfactoriamente los deseos de sus fieles devotos, estos a cambio ofrecen obediencia y gratitud asidua a las potencias divinas conexas. Desde la teoría monomitica de Campbell, María Lionza se transfigura en esoterismo bucólico y espiritualidad irreverente e irreversible en el imaginario popular venezolano, que advierte experiencias hierofánicas de unicidad socio-simbólica en el encuentro trascendente del ser.

The purpose of this article is to examine the historical and psychodynamic aspects surrounding the cult of María Lionza as an ancestral female deity of venezuelan myth. The mythical represents an absolute truth in the systems of representation of humanity, in addition to the instinctive fantasies in the psyche-soma of archaic societies and repressed dreams of homo sapiens; Maria Lionza being the Mother- Goddess who satisfactorily fulfills the desires of her faithful devotees, who in return offer obedience and assiduous gratitude to the related divine powers. From Campbell's monomythical theory, María Lionza is transfigured into bucolic esotericism and irreverent and irreversible spirituality in the Venezuelan popular imagination, which warns hierophanic experiences of socio-symbolic uniqueness in the transcendent encounter of being.
