Perfil del gerente educativo contemporáneo

Abstract

Educational institutions are subordinate to the political, social, cultural, technological and environmental levels. This uncertainty intensifies the challenges faced by the educational manager in response to the demands of the knowledge society, educational quality and the goals of the institution. This essay thinks about the profile of the contemporary educational manager, built with the support of four complementary sections: (1) The emerging educational management model, (2) The educational manager as an organizational strategist, (3) Educational management and strategic conversation, and (4) The management proposal for educational quality. To develop the content, the authors resorted to documentary analysis. The conclusion is that the educational manager will be a strategist that provides a systemic, comprehensive and strategic vision to identify threats and opportunities with the purpose of achieving organizational learning. At the same time, he will use the strategic conversation to motivate an active participation of the human resources, achieve cognitive transformation and realize information and knowledge management to get closer interpretations of social and institutional reality for their transformation.

Las instituciones educativas están sujetas a los cambios que se suscitan a nivel político, social, cultural, tecnológico y ambiental. Esta incertidumbre intensifica los retos que enfrenta el gerente educativo para responder a las demandas de la sociedad del conocimiento, alcanzar la calidad educativa y cumplir las metas y objetivos de la institución. Este ensayo reflexiona sobre el perfil del gerente educativo contemporáneo, el cual se construye a través del contenido de cuatro secciones complementarias: (1) El modelo gerencial educativo emergente, (2) El gerente educativo como estratega organizacional, (3) Gerencia educativa y conversación estratégica y (4) La propuesta gerencial para la calidad educativa. Para desarrollar el contenido, los autores recurrieron al análisis documental. A modo de conclusión, se propone que el gerente educativo contemporáneo será un estratega al brindar a sus colaboradores una visión sistémica, integral y estratégica para identificar amenazas y oportunidades con el propósito de alcanzar el aprendizaje organizacional. A la par, empleará la conversación estratégica para motivar la participación activa de los equipos humanos, lograr la transformación cognitiva y la correcta gestión de la información y el conocimiento para alcanzar interpretaciones más cercanas de la realidad social e institucional y su transformación.
