La Guerra de Paraguay, de la Triple Alianza o de la triple infamia es un conflicto
de grandes consecuencias para las tempranas repúblicas independientes iberoamericanas. Sin embargo su carácter cruento y la difícil relación posterior entre vencedores y vencidos, unido al carácter difícilmente clasificable de los próceres implicados, a la destrucción de valiosas fuentes documentales y al revisionismo, han llevado a la infoxicación de una parte muy importante de la historia de cuatro grandes países, que aún tiene que remediarse completamente.
