Con la rápida propagación del COVID-19 en marzo del 2020, las sociedades se vieron avocadas de forma abrupta a cambiar sus actividades diarias. El proceso educativo fue una de las actividades con mayor afectación dado que, por las condiciones de aglomeración en las aulas, se tuvo que migrar al desarrollo de actividades académicas asistidas por recursos TIC. Desde ese momento a la fecha han pasado más de dieciocho meses y es en ese escenario donde se origina esta investigación, cuyo principal objetivo es determinar las afectaciones derivadas del COVID-19 en los procesos editoriales que se adelantan al interior de las instituciones de educación superior en sus publicaciones periódicas.; With the rapid spread of COVID-19 in March 2020, societies were abruptly forced to change their daily activities. The educational process was one of the most affected activities, given that, due to the conditions of overcrowding in classrooms, they had to migrate to the development of academic activities assisted by ICT resources. Since then, more than eighteen months have passed and it is in this scenario that this research has been carried out, the main objective of which is to determine the effects of COVID-19 on the editorial processes that are carried out within higher education institutions in their periodical publications.

Revistas académicas ¿resiliencia o los estertores de la investigación en Venezuela? MERCADO, Alexis; SÁNCHEZ-ROSE, Isabelle; VESSURI, Hebe Venezuela experimenta un desmantelamiento de la investigación y desarrollo tecnológico. Los indicadores muestran daños casi irreversibles en las capacidades de producción, difusión y uso del conocimiento, comprometiendo severamente las posibilidades de acompañar las profundas transformaciones sociotécnicas globales y garantizar el bienestar. Las publicaciones académicas sufren una merma de contribuciones de autores nacionales, además de severas limitaciones presupuestarias. Aun así, muchas mantienen continuidad debido a esfuerzos de los editores y la conformación de redes colaborativas ¿Evidencia esto resiliencia, o son los estertores de la investigación?; Venezuela affronts a dismantlement of its research and technological development capacities, affecting the production, diffusion, and use of knowledge. This affects the possibilities of accompanying the global sociotechnical transformations and guaranteeing the well-being. Academic publications suffer a severe decrease in contributions from national authors and budget restrictions. Even so, many of them remain active thanks to the efforts of the editors and the conformations of collaborative networks. Does this evidence resilience, or is it the death rattle of research?

Información académica y pandemia RANGEL-ALDAO, Rafael La pandemia transformó la industria editorial y la cooperación científica que produjo en meses, vacunas seguras y eficaces contra la COVID-19. ¿Para qué sirvió todo esto? La medición de la audiencia reveló una cobertura mundial; y Venezuela accedió a ciertas vacunas COVAX, pero no hay un plan nacional de vacunación; y el subregistro de datos sigue vigente. A escala global se lograron vacunas y antivirales, y estaremos mejor aún con una mayor cooperación que reduzca la desigualdad social del mundo.; The pandemic transformed the publishing industry, and a scientific cooperation that in months produced safe and effective vaccines against COVID-19. What was all this for? The audience measurement revealed worldwide coverage; and Venezuela agreed to certain COVAX vaccines, but there is no national vaccination plan; and the data underreporting is still in effect. On a global scale, vaccines and antivirals were achieved, and we will be even better with greater cooperation that reduces social inequality in the world.

Their answers to a set of simple questions allows knowledge of the challenges and perspectives of their publications as well as the strength and weaknesses of the articles received as submisions.
