Acevedo Núñez, Yeny Karina El proceso de atención de enfermería (PAE) consta de cinco etapas: valoración, diagnóstico, planificación, ejecución y evaluación y es la metodología científica para el cuidado de los pacientes, corresponde metafóricamente a la columna vertebral en el ejercicio de la enfermería como profesión, ya que en él puede integrarse la teoría y la práctica del cuidado, eje central de dicha profesión. En la práctica cotidiana, en escenarios hospitalarios y/o comunitarios los profesionales de enfermería, por lo general, siguen prestando sus cuidados de forma individual empírica, sin lograr aplicar cada una de las etapas que este método contempla. Este artículo contiene algunos planteamientos para el debate en cuanto a la enseñanza del PAE, con el fin de desarrollar competencias en el estudiante que le permita integrar la teoría y la práctica del PAE. Para ello, se hace un análisis descriptivo del currículo de la Escuela de Enfermería de la Facultad de Medicina, Universidad del Zulia y se avanza en una investigación cualitativa con un enfoque epistemológico fenomenológico en desarrollo, para develar el significado de las prácticas docentes en relación a la teoría y la práctica del PAE. Todo esto orientado por teorías enfermeras acerca del Proceso de Atención de Enfermería. De esta manera el presente ensayo ha dispuesto esta sentencia como punto cardinal en el ejercicio de discernir al hombre qua homine per se, cual hombre por sí; en el cotejo de algunas concepciones que se daban por sentadas como claras y subordinadas entre sí, en la disposición mencionada: el hombre como ser político o social; hemos inspeccionado matices que quedan ignorados aun en nuestrosdías, siendo pues compatibles con nuestro cometido inicial, así como un vehículo oportuno para atender por extensión asuntos estrechamente vinculados.
