<description>THE OPEN CYCLE OF INCLUSIVE SCHOOL MANAGEMENT:: A DIAGNOSTIC STUDY IN URBAN PUBLIC EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS IN COLOMBIA; EL CICLO ABIERTO DE LA GESTIÓN ESCOLAR INCLUSIVA: : DIAGNÓSTICO EN INSTITUCIONES EDUCATIVAS PÚBLICAS URBANAS DE COLOMBIA
Inclusive school management integrates planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation with the principles of participation, acceptance, relevance, equity, and effectiveness. This study is descriptive in nature and employs a contemporary univariate cross-sectional field design (Hurtado de Barrera, 2012). The study population consisted of 33 school administrators from eleven urban public schools in Sogamoso, Colombia. An 86-item instrument (α = 0.968; IVC = 0.94) was used for data collection, organized into four synergies aligned with five principles of inclusion (Pérez Pita, 2025), on a scale of 0 to 50 points. The analysis was performed using SPSS v.26, employing medians, interquartile ranges, and frequencies by category. The results indicated that school administrators in Sogamoso practice inclusive school management at a high level: median of 40.11/50; 87.9% in the high and very high categories. The analysis by synergies reveals an open cycle: planning (Md = 39.42), organization (Md = 40.47), and implementation (Md = 42.50) show lower dispersion; monitoring and control (Md = 40.51) exhibits the greatest variability (IQR = 15.08) and the only cases in the low category. The most consistent practices are concentrated in anti-discrimination policies (81.8–90.9%) and communication with families (78.8–81.8%). Closing the cycle is the remaining condition for inclusive school management to function as a system of continuous improvement.; La gestión escolar inclusiva articula planificación, organización, ejecución, y seguimiento y control con los principios de participación, aceptación, pertinencia, equidad y eficacia.

<description>PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING AND STUDENT PARTICIPATION IN UNIVERSITY TEACHER TRAINING: : A MIXED-METHODS STUDY AND A MULTIDIMENSIONAL MODEL; APRENDIZAJE BASADO EN PROBLEMAS Y PARTICIPACIÓN ESTUDIANTIL EN FORMACIÓN DOCENTE UNIVERSITARIA: : ESTUDIO MIXTO Y MODELO MULTIDIMENSIONAL
This study examines the implementation of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in university teacher education, aiming to evaluate its impact on student participation. A mixed-methods approach was adopted, using a quasi-experimental pretest–posttest design with 30 third-level students enrolled in a Basic Education program at an Ecuadorian university. The intervention focused on the analysis of educational problems related to learning difficulties, promoting collaborative work, inquiry, and the development of pedagogical proposals. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire, an analytical rubric, and an observation guide. The findings show a significant increase in student participation, with the average score rising from 3.13 in the pretest to 4.29 in the posttest. Improvements were also identified in critical thinking, collaborative work, meaningful learning, and motivation. These results support the relevance of PBL as a teaching strategy in higher education, as it fosters active, contextualized learning and contributes to the development of professional competencies in teacher education.; Este estudio analiza la implementación del aprendizaje basado en problemas en la formación docente universitaria, con el objetivo de evaluar su impacto en la participación estudiantil.
