Gênero e magistério: questões pertinentes

Abstract

Este artigo objetiva analisar gênero e feminização do magistério. As principais autoras são: Almeida, Louro, Graupe, Grossi, Carvalho, entre outras. A pesquisa possui enfoque qualitativo. Foi realizada revisão de literatura. Os dados apontam que a articulação entre gênero e magistério é importante para compreensão das relações históricas, sociais e culturais da profissão docente. O primeiros professores foram homens religiosos, depois mulheres solteironas, as jovens normalistas e consequentemente, a feminização e desvalorização do magistério.

This article aims to analyze gender and feminization of the teaching profession. The main authors are: Almeida, Louro, Graupe, Grossi, Carvalho, among others. The research has a qualitative approach. A literature review was performed. The data show that the articulation between gender and teaching is important for understanding the historical, social and cultural relations of the teaching profession. The first teachers were religious men, then female spinsters, the young normalists and, consequently, feminization and devaluation of the teaching profession.
