EL DESARROLLO DE LA CULTURA INVESTIGATIVA EN LAS UNIVERSIDADES VENEZOLANAS: UNA NECESIDAD O UN DEBER

Abstract

La Universidad, como espacio de producción de saberes, asume la gestión y difusión del conocimiento mediante la investigación como accionar intelectual e instrumento de desarrollo social conducente a la solución de los problemas de la comunidad. Mediante el ejercicio de investigar, se forman los futuros investigadores, quienes con sus aportes teórico-prácticos, deben responder a las demandas y cambios de un mundo competitivo y globalizado. Atendiendo a estas premisas, con este artículo, producto de los resultados de un trabajo de investigación doctoral, mediante el cual las experiencias y vivencias de los informantes permitieron generar importantes consideraciones, nos proponemos reflexionar en torno a la universidad como lugar donde se deben seguir políticas y guías acordes con la realidad de lo que significa la investigación, procurando que esta última sea el objetivo prioritario que la vincule con la sociedad. Desde nuestra postura, consideramos la revisión de todos los factores de orden académico y administrativo, que permiten activar y preparar investigadores idóneos, lo que, en definitiva, representa uno de los pilares fundamentales que toda institución universitaria debe priorizar. Resulta ineludible comprender la necesidad de atender la investigación científica y a las comunidades académicas que las realizan; desarrollar sus estructuras organizativas; otorgar los espacios; discutir su relevancia y sus aplicaciones; transformar la praxis docente, para que, desde el pregrado, se consoliden líneas de investigación, y se generen procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje metodológico pertinente. Se requiere también fijar incentivos para formar los semilleros de investigadores noveles y fortalecer el trabajo de los docentes investigadores.

The University, as a space for the production of knowledge, assumes the management and dissemination of knowledge through research as an intellectual action and an instrument of social development leading to the solution of community problems. Through the exercise of research, future researchers are trained, who with their theoretical-practical contributions must respond to the demands and changes of a competitive and globalized world. In response to these premises, with this article, product of the results of a doctoral research work, through which the experiences of the informants allowed generating important considerations, we intend to reflect on the university as a place where policies must be followed and guides in accordance with the reality of what research means, ensuring that the latter is the priority objective that links it with society. From our position, we consider the revision of all academic and administrative factors, which allow activating and preparing suitable researchers, which, in short, represents one of the fundamental pillars that every university institution must prioritize. It is unavoidable to understand the need to attend to scientific research and the academic communities that carry it out; develop their organizational structures; grant the spaces; discuss its relevance and its applications; transform the teaching praxis, so that, from the undergraduate, lines of research are consolidated, and relevant methodological teaching and learning processes are generated. It is also necessary to establish incentives to form the hotbeds of new researchers and strengthen the work of research teachers.
