| en_US |
dc.description.abstract | Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy are a high incidence pathology in obstetrics services, determining a major cause of maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality; HELLP Syndrome being complication most feared. The present study was aimed at establishing a relationship between plasma levels of LDH and the presence of schistocytes in peripheral blood smears, as well as other clinical and paraclinical variables present in this syndrome to determine the reliability of this haematological parameter as an indicator of box hemolytic established in these patients. A descriptive cross-sectional study for which the medical records of patients hospitalized with the diagnosis of HELLP syndrome at the University Hospital of the Andes Autonomous Institute for period between 2004 and 2014 were reviewed, encompassing 148 patients was conducted who met the inclusion criteria. The results showed that the LDH plays an important role in the monitoring of any patient with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and its elevation above 600 IU / l associated with symptoms such as epigastric pain, headache, tinnitus and phosphenes, it is an indicator that has established a HELLP syndrome. | en_US |
