| en_US |
dc.description.abstract | The link between Arterial Hypertension (HT) and Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) has peculiarities with diagnostic, therapeutic and prognostic consequences. The increase in arterial pressure (BP) conditions functional changes, given by the elevation of renal vascular resistance. The General Objective: To determine the behavior of the blood flow pattern of the renal arteries in patients with a diagnosis of arterial hypertension, aged between 21 and 60 years, attended in the Doppler Ultrasound Consultation of the Autonomous Institute Hospital Universitario de Los Andes of the state of Mérida, in the period from November 2019 to June 2020. General Study Design: Observational, cross-sectional study. Results: the study sample consisted of 45 patients, where the predominant age was 51 to 60 years, representing 31.1% of the total. 68.9% of the patients were diagnosed with HT 5 years ago. The resistance index (IR) above 0.70 was observed in the arteries of origin bilaterally, representing 44.4% (in the right kidney) and 46.7% (in the left kidney). Conclusions: Kidney measurements presented higher values in women in length and anteroposterior. Regarding the BP category, it presented higher RI values for grade 1 and 2. The relationship between the time of diagnosis of HT, AP category and RI showed that, as the time of diagnosis of the disease increased, they had higher IRs. | en_US |
