Interpretación de la actividad pedagógica en las aulas hospitalarias

Abstract

La pedagogía hospitalaria se centra en la atención a los alumnos que, por alguna enfermedad, no pueden asistir a una institución educativa; es inclusiva y contribuye con la forma de afrontar la enfermedad. La investigación se desarrolló en dos aulas hospitalarias del estado Barinas y una del estado Mérida y tuvo como objetivo interpretar la actividad pedagógica como complemento de la acción médica brindada a los niños y adolescentes en las aulas hospitalarias. El estudio se ubica en el paradigma cualitativo, sustentado en un enfoque etnográfico. Los informantes clave fueron ocho (8) docentes que laboran en las aulas hospitalarias, formados en Educación Integral, Educación Preescolar y Educación Especial y una (1) docente coordinadora de línea del Ministerio del Poder Popular para la Educación (MPPE), también forman parte de esta investigación los niños internados pertenecientes a cada aula hospitalaria y sus familiares. Los instrumentos de recolección de información fueron la entrevista en profundidad y el diario de campo y, como técnica, la observación participante. Se llegó a la conclusión que la acción educativa debe estar dirigida desde una pedagogía afectiva con un docente empático, amoroso, que incorpore estrategias de afrontamiento para una adecuada reinserción escolar y un equipo multidisciplinario para mejorar la atención hospitalaria, requiriendo un trabajo articulado con los diferentes profesionales que hacen vida en el hospital: docentes, psicólogos, trabajadores sociales, terapistas ocupacionales integrales, enfermeras y médicos a efectos de garantizar la inclusión social del niño o adolescente enfermo y que el medio realmente le ayude a recobrar el bienestar biopsicosocial.

Hospital pedagogy focuses on the attention to students who, due to some illness, cannot attend an educational institution; it is inclusive and contributes to the way of facing the disease. The research was developed in two hospital classrooms in Barinas state and one in Mérida state, and its objective was to interpret the pedagogical activity as a complement to the medical action provided to children and adolescents in hospital classrooms. The study is located in the qualitative paradigm, supported by an ethnographic approach. The key informants were eight (8) teachers who work in hospital classrooms, trained in Integral Education, Preschool Education and Special Education, and one (1) line coordinator teacher of the Ministry of Popular Power for Education (MPPE), they are also part from this research, the hospitalized children belonging to each hospital classroom and their families. The information gathering instruments were the in-depth interview and the field diary and, as a technique, participant observation. It was concluded that the educational action directed from a multidisciplinary team allows organizing and improving hospital care, requiring an articulated work with the different professionals who make life in the hospital: teachers, psychologists, social workers, integral occupational therapists, nurses and doctors in order to guarantee the social inclusion of the sick child or adolescent and that the environment really helps them regain their bio psychosocial well-being.
