This research deals with the social value of reading and writing in the initial years of Elementary School I, with the purpose of reflecting on the social value of reading and writing texts in the initial years, stressing that support for flexibility in the educational routine, since the trainee can interpret the practice in which it is inserted and arrive at relevant ideas about its truthfulness and the perspectives that constitute it.
