dc.descriptionSpecial educational needs are commonly associated to the deficit of abilities, but on the contrary, high abilities or giftedness refer to the potentialities that a student has. Considering this, this article is developed with the objective of describing the implications of intelligence and the family with respect to gifted students in the university stage. The methodology corresponds to a bibliographic documentary study. Finally, gifted university students have the power to show high capacities, abilities and skills, with their performance and/or performance in various academic areas. However, intelligence, although it has an important genetic component, its development is a product of the interaction between genetics and/or environment. Therefore, the family is a fundamental link to generate motivating and stimulating environments for the full materialization of these capacities, which require adequate and differentiated attention.en-US
dc.descriptionLas necesidades educativas especiales están asociadas comúnmente al déficit de capacidades, pero contrariamente las altas capacidades o superdotación hacen referencia a las potencialidades que tiene un estudiante. Considerando esto, se desarrolla este artículo con el objetivo de describir las implicaciones de la inteligencia y la familia respecto a los estudiantes superdotados en la etapa universitaria. La metodología corresponde a un estudio documental bibliográfico. Finalmente, los estudiantes universitarios superdotados tienen el poder de mostrar altas capacidades, habilidades y destrezas, con su desempeño y/o rendimiento en diversas áreas académicas. No obstante, la inteligencia, aunque posee un importante componente genético, su desarrollo es producto de la interacción entre genética y/o entorno o medioambiente. Por consiguiente, la familia es eslabón fundamental para generar entornos motivadores y estimuladores para la materialización plena de estas capacidades, las cuales requieren de una atención adecuada y diferenciada.es-ES
