Aprender sirviendo en contextos comunitarios: estrategia situada para el abordaje de la enseñanza de la geografía

Abstract

En la búsqueda de estrategias didácticas innovadoras que permitan un aprendizaje significativo y útil se presenta el Aprendizaje Sirviendo en Contexto Comunitario o Aprendizaje en Servicio, estrategia perteneciente a la cognición situada capaz de abordar los conocimientos geográficos en el nivel de media general. La presente investigación busca evaluar las fortalezas y/o debilidades que presenta esta estrategia en dicho nivel educativo sustentado en los aportes teóricos de Puig (2022), Martínez (2022), López y Martín (2018), Mayor (2018), Puig, Martín y Rubio (2017), Martínez (2014), Díaz (2006), entre otros, además de documentos emitido por el Ministerio de Educación. El estudio se tipificó de tipo descriptivo con un diseño documental, siendo la unidad de análisis documentos, textos y fuentes electrónicas, representando los hallazgos a través de matrices descriptivas de los autores antes señalados. Dentro de los aportes se destacan que el Aprendizaje en Servicio es una estrategia en creciente auge a nivel mundial, debido a sus potencialidades de las cuales destacan la participación activa de los estudiantes, la alta pertinencia social, el fomento de valores, de la inclusión y el altruismo en los involucrados. Cabe destacar que basándose en las características del Aprendizaje en Servicio y tomando como referencia los cambios requeridos a nivel ministerial en el proceso de Transformación Curricular de Educación Media, la estrategia objeto de estudio engrana perfectamente como estrategia didáctica para el aprendizaje de los contenidos geográficos.

In the search for innovative teaching strategies that allow meaningful and useful learning, Serving Learning in a Community Context or Service Learning is presented, a strategy belonging to situated cognition capable of addressing geographical knowledge at the general average level. The present research seeks to evaluate the strengths and/or weaknesses that this strategy presents at said educational level supported by the theoretical contributions of Puig (2022), Martínez (2022), López and Martín (2018), Mayor (2018), Puig, Martín and Rubio (2017), Martínez (2014), Díaz (2006), among others, in addition to documents issued by the Ministry of Education. The study was classified as descriptive with a documentary design, the unit of analysis being documents, texts and electronic sources, representing the findings through descriptive matrices of the aforementioned authors. Among the contributions, it is highlighted that Service Learning is a strategy that is growing in popularity worldwide, due to its potential, which highlights the active participation of students, high social relevance, the promotion of values, inclusion and altruism in those involved. It should be noted that based on the characteristics of Service Learning and taking as reference the changes required at the ministerial level in the Secondary Education Curriculum Transformation process, the strategy under study fits perfectly as a didactic strategy for learning geographical content.
