Frecuencia del síndrome de Burnout en el personal de enfermería UCI - IAHULA. Mérida abril - junio 2008
Resumen
Se realizó una investigación de tipo descriptiva, con diseño transversal, cuyo objetivo fue determinar la Frecuencia del Síndrome de Burnout en el personal de Enfermería de la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos del Instituto Autónomo Hospital Universitario de Los Andes Mérida - Venezuela. La población se constituyó por 30 Profesionales de Enfermería, a las cuales se les aplicó un instrumento tipo cuestionario denominado Maslach Bumout Inventory (MBl) adaptado para Venezuela por el Centro de Investigaciones Psicológicas de la Universidad de Los Andes. Los resultados fueron: Edad promedio 44.3 (DS = 5.99); el 50% de la muestra correspondió a personal del turno nocturno. El promedio de años laborados en UCI fue de 13.3 años (DS = 8.11). Los puntajes para las dimensiones del Síndrome de Desgaste Profesional (SDP) fueron bajos para Agotamiento Emocional (AE) en un 90% (DS = 3.47), medios para Despersonalización (D) en 56.66% (DS = 3.69) y altos en Realización Personal (RP) 100% (OS = 3.99). Al cruzar las variables sociodemográficas de estudio con el SDP, se encontró que no existía correlación entre ellas. Conclusiones: estadísticamente se demostró, a través de los estadísticos ANOVA y Chi Cuadrado de Pearson, que no existe Bumout en la población estudiada. An investigation was conducted by descriptive, with cross design, whose goal was to determine the frequency of the syndrome in people Burnout of Nursing at the Intensive Care Unit of the Institute University Hospital of the Andes Mérida - Venezuela. The population was formed by 30 Professional Nursing, which was applied a questionnaire type instrument called the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) adapted to Venezuela by the Center for Psychological Research of the University of the Andes. The results were: average age 44.3 (SD = 5.99), with 50% of the sample went to the night shift staff. The average number of years worked in the ICU was 13.3 years (SD = 8.11). The scores for the dimensions of burnout syndrome (SDP) were low for Emotional Exhaustion (AE) by 90% (SD = 3.47), means to depersonalization (D) 56.66% (SD = 3.69) and high in Personal Conduct (RP) 100% (SD = 3.99). When crossing the study of socio-demographic variables with the SDP, we found that there was no correlation between them. Conc1usions: Statistically it was shown, through the statistical ANOVA and Pearson Chi Square, Burnout does not exist in the population studied.
