Elías David Curiel a las puertas de la desmitificación

Abstract

La figura de Elías David Curiel dentro de la historia de la literatura falconiana es una de las más llamativas y ricas. El mito que se ha formado alrededor del autor en ocasiones opaca la obra y distorsiona su comprensión. Su condición de exiliado cultural, de judío errante, va a ser su marca e influirá profundamente su poesía. En este trabajo se pretenden abordar ciertos tópicos que se presentan en su obra y, además, contrastar la crítica que se ha levantado frente a su vida y obra con el contexto histórico y social en que le tocó vivir.

The figure of Elías David Curiel within the history of Falconian literature is one of the most striking and rich. The myth that has formed around the author sometimes overshadows the work and distorts its understanding. His status as a cultural exile, as a wandering Jew, will be his mark and will profoundly influence his poetry. In this work we intend to address certain topics that are presented in his work and, in addition, contrast the criticism that has been raised against his life and work with the historical and social context in which he lived.
