Abstract

Objetivo: Analizar la coronectomía en cirugía de terceros molares inferiores incluidos. Método: Descriptiva documental. Conclusión: En la mayor parte de los casos en donde existe un compromiso de la raíz y el nervio, la coronectomía resultó una opción positiva de tratamiento para reducir significativamente el riesgo de secuelas postoperatorias, sin embargo, es indispensable el tiempo de seguimiento al paciente para valorar el resultado de la intervención y prestar atención ante cualquier posible cambio o complicación por la cual se vea la necesidad de una nueva intervención y extraer completamente las raíces, sin embargo la probabilidad de lesionar el nervio será menor debido a la migración de estas, con frecuencia después de un periodo considerable tras el procedimiento clínico

Conclusion: In most cases where there is root and nerve involvement, coronectomy was a positive treatment option to significantly reduce the risk of postoperative sequelae, however, it is essential to follow up the patient to assess the outcome of the intervention and pay attention to any possible changes or complications that may require a new intervention and complete removal of the roots, however, the probability of nerve damage will be lower due to the migration of these, often after a considerable period of time following the clinical procedure
