Neumonía adquirida en pacientes con sistemas de respiración asistida por mala higiene buca

Abstract

Objetivo: Determinar el conocimiento sobre la neumonía adquirida en el área de UCI en pacientes intubados frente a las causas por la mala higiene bucal en el personal de salud del hospital IEES Ambato-Ecuador. Método: Descriptiva observacional. Resultados: El 87,5% (n=35) cree que es muy necesario el cuidado bucal en pacientes que están entubados en el área de UCI y el 12,5 % (n=5) cree que es necesario el cuidado bucal en pacientes que están entubados en el área de UCI. Conclusión: La higiene oral con clorhexidina en combinación con otras estrategias para cuidar el aseo bucodental y la prevención, de la neumonía adquirida por intuición, debe incluirse en el cuidado del paciente en la UCI, al igual que ampliar el conocimiento del personal hospitalario para una mejor calidad de manejo en los pacientes de UCI

Objective: To determine the knowledge of pneumonia acquired in the ICU area in intubated patients versus the causes of poor oral hygiene in health personnel of the IEES Ambato-Ecuador hospital. Methods: Descriptive observational study. Results:87.5% (n=35) believe that oral care is very necessary in patients who are intubated in the ICU area and 12.5% (n=5) believe that oral care is necessary in patients who are intubated in the ICU area. Conclusion: Oral hygiene with chlorhexidine in combination with other strategiesfor oral hygiene care and prevention of intubated pneumonia should be included in ICU patient care, as well as increasing the knowledge of hospital staff for better quality management of ICU patients
