Educación matemática en la formación del profesional de turismo: una visión epistémica

Abstract

La matemática es una necesidad para el ser humano, los institutos universitarios egresan diferentes profesionales que necesitan del conocimiento matemático. Este trabajo tuvo como propósito generar una aproximación teórica con la visión de sentidos y significados que le atribuyen a la educación matemática en la formación del profesional del turismo. La educación matemática es considerada como un conjunto de ideas, conocimientos, procesos, actitudes que generan actividades implicadas en la construcción, representación, transmisión y valoración del conocimiento; del mismo modo, el turismo es considerado como un conjunto de actividades realizadas por los turistas al trasladarse de su sitio habitual, sin embargo, existen diferentes procesos inmersos para poder lograr el disfrute del turista y convertir ese disfrute en activos para los trabajadores de esta área, por tanto, se hace imprescindible el uso de la matemática en el turismo. La investigación se realizó bajo el paradigma interpretativo en línea con el método fenomenológico, apoyado en la hermenéutica, el procedimiento para el acopio de la información se hizo mediante entrevistas a profundidad. Los informantes clave estuvieron conformados por Licenciados en turismo con una trayectoria docente de más de cinco años en el Programa Nacional de Formación en Turismo (PNFT) de la Universidad Nacional Experimental del Yaracuy (UNEY) donde los hallazgos nos permitieron construir una aproximación teórica, conformada por tres ejes: educación, matemática y turismo. El presente artículo se centró en el eje educación, los otros ejes serán para posteriores presentaciones.

The present research was raised as a structure in society, where mathematics has become a necessity for human beings, university institutes graduate different professionals who need mathematical knowledge. This work aimed to generate a theoretical approach with the vision of senses and meanings attributed to mathematical education in the training of tourism professionals. Mathematics education is considered a set of ideas, knowledge, processes, attitudes and, that generate activities involved in the construction, representation, transmission and valuation of knowledge. In the same way, tourism is considered a set of activities carried out by tourists when moving from their usual place, however, there are different processes immersed in order to achieve the enjoyment of the tourist and turn that enjoyment into assets for workers in this area, therefore the use of mathematics in tourism is essential. The research was carried out under the interpretative paradigm and used the phenomenological method, supported by hermeneutics, the procedure for collecting information was done through in-depth interviews. The key informants were made up of tourism graduates with a teaching career of more than five years in the National Tourism Formation Program of the University (PNFT) of the National Experimental University of Yaracuy (UNEY) where the findings allowed me to build a theoretical approach, consisting of three axes: education, mathematics and tourism. This article focused on the education axis, the other axes; will be for later presentations.
