dc.description.abstractLa educación científica es clave para la formación ciudadana; pero esto no siempre fue concebido así. El objetivo de este ensayo es describir la incorporación de las ciencias en el currículo, durante la consolidación de la escuela popular chilena. Se realizó análisis histórico de fuentes que caracterizó la enseñanza de las ciencias a finales del s. XIX, en el contexto del avance científico, del pensamiento educacional, de las normativas, de la formación docente y de la concreción en aula.en_US
dc.description.abstractScientific education is key to fostering civic engagement; however, this has not always been the prevailing perspective. The aim of this essay is to describe the integration of science into the curriculum during the establishment of Chile's popular school system. A historical analysis of sources was conducted to characterize science teaching at the end of the 19th century, within the context of scientific advancements, educational thought, regulations, teacher training, and classroom implementation.en_US
