Abstract

La limitada información sobre salud sexual y reproductiva que reciben nuestros jó-venes en sus hogares y las aulas de clase, genera un incremento en el embarazo ado-lescente e infecciones de transmisión sexual, debido al desarrollo de hábitos sexuales inadecuados, que se atribuyen al enfoque biologicista que tiene actualmente la edu-cación sexual y reproductiva en nuestro país, esta investigación tiene como objetivo identificar el nivel educativo en salud sexual y reproductiva que tienen los adoles-centes y adultos jóvenes del sector La Huerta, Parroquia Sucre, Municipio Sucre, Estado Mérida. La metodología utilizada en el estudio realizado fue de tipo descrip-tivo con enfoque cuantitativo, de diseño transversal. La población de estudio fueron personas con edades comprendidas entre 10 y 40 años del sector La Huerta, Parro-quia Sucre, Municipio Sucre, Estado Mérida. La muestra fue de 50 personas con edades comprendidas entre 10 y 40 años; el muestreo fue no probabilístico, de con-veniencia. El instrumento utilizado para llevar a cabo el estudio se ha elaborado ba-sándose en la encuesta mundial de salud estudiantil (Global School-based Student Health Survey) correspondiente al año 2021, diseñada por la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) y la encuesta realizada por el departamento de medicina preven-tiva y salud pública de la facultad de medicina de la Universidad de Navarra. En las conclusiones se determinó un bajo nivel educativo en salud sexual y reproductiva en los adolescentes y adultos jóvenes del sector La Huerta, Parroquia Sucre, Municipio Sucre del Estado Mérida. Hay tendencia al inicio de relaciones sexuales a edades cada vez más tempranas. Las estrategias implementadas permitieron dar inicio al empoderamiento de la población adolescente mediante el reconocimiento de sus ca-pacidades individuales y colectivas, creando seres autónomos y autosuficientes.

The meth-odology used in the study carried out was descriptive with a quantitative approach, with a cross-sectional design. The study population was people between 10 and 40 years old from the La Huerta sector, Sucre Parish, Sucre Municipality, Mérida State. The sample was 50 people aged between 10 and 40 years; The sampling was non-probabilistic, of convenience. The instrument used to carry out the study has been developed based on the Global School-based Student Health Survey for the year 2021, designed by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the survey carried out by the department of preventive medicine and public health of the faculty of medi-cine of the University of Navarra. The conclusions determined a low educational level in sexual and reproductive health in adolescents and young adults in the La Huerta sector, Sucre Parish, Sucre Municipality of the State of Mérida. There is a tendency to start sexual relations at increasingly younger ages. The implemented strategies allowed the empowerment of the adolescent population to begin through the recognition of their individual and collective capabilities, creating autonomous and self-sufficient beings.
