Estudio de los componentes volátiles de tres especies del género Hyptis (Lamiaceae) y determinación de su actividad antibacteriana

Abstract

Aceites esenciales de las hojas de tres especies del genero Hyptis: Hyptis colombiana Epling, Hiptis pectinata L. e Hyptis mutabilis. L.C. Rich, (Lamiaceae) recolectadas en diferentes épocas comprendidas entre Febrero 2005 y Octubre del 2006, fueron analizados por CG/EM. Los aceites extraídos por hidrodestilación en las tres especies produjeron un 0.34% V/P de rendimiento promedio. Cincuenta y Cuatro, Treinta y uno y Treinta y nueve compuestos respectivamente fueron identificados por comparación de sus espectros de masas con la base de datos de la librería WILEY CG/EM, 6ta edición y por sus índices de retención (IR). Los compuestos observados como mayoritarios presentaron semejanza en los aceites esenciales de las tres especies, los cuales fueron B-cariofileno y germacreno D, los mismos obtenidos en porcentajes mayores al 20%. Los Analisis de actividad antibactaeriana mostraron inhibición del crecimiento en la cepas S. aureus y E. faecalis exhibiendo CIM entre 10 y 30 mg/mL. Este es el primer reporte sobre la composición química y actividad antibacteriana del aceite esencial de Hyptis colombiana Epling.

Essential oils from leaves of three Hyptis species: Hyptis colombiana Epling, Hyptis pectinata L. and Hyptis mutabilis L.C. (Lamiaceae) collected in different times between February 2005 and October 2006 were analyzed by CG/EM. The oils extracted by hydrodistillation from the three species produced an average of 0.34 % V/W. Fifty four, thirty one and thirty nine compounds, respectively, were identified by comparison of their mass spectra with the library data base WILEY CG/EM 6th and by their retention indices (IR). Major compounds turned to be similar in the essential oil of the three species, these were B-caryophyllene and germacrene D, obtained in percentages higher than 20 %. The antibacterial actity assays showed grow inhibition on the S.aureus and E. faecalis cultures, exhibitions values between 10 and 30 mg/mL .This is the first report about the chemical composition and antibacterial activity of Hyptis colombiana Epling essential oil.
