Abstract

Mediante leyes que regulan la cooperación internacional, las dictaduras del continente pretenden eliminar las fuentes de financiamiento de las organizaciones de la sociedad civil y acabar con ellas. Por esta vía, se estaría evitando la crítica política, la denuncia de la corrupción, la defensa de los derechos, y la participación del crimen organizado en la vida de la Nación. Mediante estos mecanismos legales, se tendría un firme control de la actividad de las organizaciones de la sociedad civil, exigiendo que éstas proporcionen información detallada sobre sus actividades. Se trata de un instrumento más de persecución política.

Through the enactment of new laws that regulate international cooperation, the dictatorships of the American continent expect to close the funding sources of civil society organizations. In this way, political debate, as well as the denunciation of corruption, the defense of human rights, and the denunciation of the participation of the organized crime in the life of the Nation will be avoided. Through these legal mechanisms, there will be a stronger control over the activity of civil society organizations, requiring them to provide detailed information of all their activities. The legislation is a new instrument of political persecution.
