La transición constitucional de 1958-1961

Abstract

La Democracia había hecho eclosión el propio 23 de enero, pero era todavía un logro frágil, que debía concretarse política e institucionalmente en medio de incertidumbres sobre la actuación de las Fuerzas Armadas, con las diversas corrientes que había en su seno, y sobre las posturas de otros actores en el campo religioso, económico e internacional. El presente artículo busca recordar como el espíritu del 23 de enero se forjó con base en la unidad entre fuerzas políticas y sociales que se empeñaron en construir la Democracia recién recuperada y en hacerla perdurable.

The Democracy had erupted on January23, but it was still a fragile achievement, which had to materialize politically and institutionally in the midst of uncertainties about the actions of the Armed Forces, with the various currents that were in its midst, and about the positions of other actors in the religious, economic and international field. This article seeks to remember how the spirit of January 23 was forged based on the unity between political and social forces that endeavored to build recently recovered Democracy and make it durable.
