Sociología resiliente. Resistiendo y reinventándose

Abstract

El pasado mes de marzo la AVS realizó en modalidad virtual el 8º Congreso nacional de Sociología con el título “La Sociología de la Resiliencia en la sociedad venezolana contemporánea”. Fue una excelente oportunidad para mostrar reflexiones y discutir en torno al balance de los últimos años de la disciplina en sus diversas áreas. En este artículo se exponen las condiciones de resiliencia en las cuales, con esfuerzo, rigor y compromiso los sociólogos reinventan el oficio y renuevan el campo. Actualizándose y transformándose en todos los órdenes: epistemológico, teórico, metodológico y temático; complejizándose y aclarándose para lograr perfiles más precisos; cambiando y asumiendo otras connotaciones. Pero, sobre todo, levantándose por encima del contexto de limitaciones institucionales, académicas, laborales en medio de la Diáspora que ha modificado la geografía de nuestro país: el que permanece en el territorio y el que está regado por el mundo, en precaridad, pero aportando al conocimiento. Construyendo el futuro de la Sociología en Resiliencia quedó como consigna de nuestro encuentro de celebración. Este dossier recoge artículos de los conferencistas de la sesión inaugural Congreso.

Last march, the AVS held the 8th National Sociology Congress entitled “The Sociology of Resilience in Contemporary Venezuelan Society.” It was an excellent opportunity to share reflections and discuss the balance of recent years in the discipline across its various areas. This article presents the conditions of resilience under which, with effort, rigor, and commitment, sociologists are reinventing their profession and renewing the field. They are updating and transforming themselves in every way: epistemological, theoretical, methodological, and thematic; becoming more complex and clarified to achieve more precise profiles; changing and taking on new connotations. But, above all, they are rising above the context of institutional, academic, and labor limitations amidst the Diaspora that has changed the geography of the country: those who remain in the territory and those who are scattered throughout the world, in precarious conditions, but contributing to knowledge. Building the Future of Sociology in Resilience was the theme of our celebratory meeting.
