Proceso de democratización en Europa del Este: diferentes escenarios de cambios sociales

Abstract

El objetivo principal de esta investigación es generar conocimiento sobre el proceso de democratización que se dio en países de Europa del Este, después de la caída del llamado bloque socialista. Se tiene una fuerte convicción de que este tipo de estudios permiten comprender mejor la historia, los mecanismos que la mueven y la universalidad de ideas que acompañan a los seres humanos. Se trabaja con el método histórico, donde el uso de las fuentes primarias fue restringido por la distancia geográfica y solo se consultaron las disponibles en soporte digital abierto. Se recurrió también a las fuentes secundarias que permitieron conocer a fondo los diferentes aspectos del proceso de democratización que se dio en los países de Europa de Este, después de la caída del Muro de Berlín. Se reflexiona acerca de los cambios democráticos que se iniciaron en Europa del Este hace ya casi treinta y cinco años y que abarcaron diferentes áreas de la actividad humana: políticas, económicas, culturales, sociales e internacionales. El artículo ofrece un estudio sobre el efecto de democratización en los países del ex bloque del Este, desde la perspectiva de los diferentes escenarios en que se desarrolló el proceso. En el presente estudio se ofrecen las características y detalles que ofrecen un alto grado de novedad y proponen nuevos elementos para el debate académico.

The main objective of this research is to generate knowledge about the democratization process that took place in countries of Eastern Europe after the fall of the so-called socialist bloc. There is a strong belief that this type of study allows for a better understanding of history, the mechanisms driving it, and the universality of ideas that accompany human beings. The historical method was employed, where the use of primary sources was restricted due to geographical distance, and only those available in open digital formats were consulted. Secondary sources were also used to gain an in-depth understanding of the various aspects of the democratization process that occurred in Eastern European countries after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Reflection is made on the democratic changes that began in Eastern Europe almost thirty-five years ago and encompassed different areas of human activity: political, economic, cultural, social, and international. The article provides a study on the effect of democratization in the countries of the former Eastern Bloc from the perspective of different scenarios in which the process developed. In this study, the characteristics and details are offered that provide a high degree of novelty and propose new elements for academic debate.
