La política tribunalicia de los reyes españoles y su relación con la iglesia en la Venezuela colonial

Abstract

La relación entre la Iglesia y el Estado en la actualidad no puede estudiarse con nitidez si se carece, al menos, de un conocimiento básico de la historia del Estado Colonial y la Iglesia de entonces. El aporte de este breve ensayo es un análisis que abarca las características fundamentales, comenzando con el establecimiento de la Iglesia en América y el proceso de su implantación en territorio venezolano, el cual se expone como una interrelación entre Iglesia y política regia. Luego, se describe el establecimiento de los tribunales en América y la posterior actividad de la Real Audiencia de Caracas en relación con la función evangelizadora del clero. Esto trae como resultado un estudio fundamentado en fuentes primarias que brinda un aporte, de carácter histórico, sobre la teoría judicial del Estado Venezolano, bajo un enfoque de tipo cualitativo
