A guinada (radical) à direita: uma análise da ascensão do bolsonarismo como fenômeno político populista

Abstract

Após 14 anos de hegemonia de esquerda do Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT), o Brasil testemunhou o surgimento de uma onda conservado-ra de direita, liderada principalmente pelo atual (2022) presidente da República, Jair Messias Bolsonaro. Diante desse cenário, o presente artigo tem como objetivo analisar os principais motivos que levaram à sua eleição, a fim de entender o bolsonarismo como um fenômeno político populista. Com base nos pressupostos teóricos do pensamento de Ernesto Laclau e Chantal Mouffe sobre populismo, sustenta-se que o surgimento de Bolsonaro não é por acaso, mas sim resultado de um processo hegemônico de discurso populista de extrema direita, em um contexto de recessão econômica, descrédito popular nas instituições políticas democráticas nacionais e polarização ideológica, fenômenos em alta quando das eleições brasileiras de 2018.

After 14 years of left-wing hegemony of the Workers’ Party (PT), Brazil is today witnessing the rise of a conservative far-right wave, led mainly by the current president of the Republic, Jair Messias Bolsonaro, of the Liberal Social Party (PSL). Rather than making a positive or negative critique of Jair Bolsonaro’s government, this article aims to analyze the main reasons that led to the election of the PSL politician, with the aim of understanding pocketship as a political phenomenon. Based on the theoretical assumptions of Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffe’s thin-king about populism, we argue that Bolsonaro’s rise does not occur at random. Before that, it is the result of a process by which a hegemonic populist discourse of the far right was constructed, in the context of a context of economic recession, popular discredit in national democra-tic political institutions and ideological polarization.
