De turistas y vagabundos, la ambivalencia en la experiencia de tres migrantes en el norte de México con Estados Unidos

Abstract

El presente trabajo es un acercamiento a la condición de ambivalencia como faceta experiencial en quienes migran, en el sentido en el cual el/la migrante se piensa dentro/fuera tanto del lugar de origen como del lugar al que llega. Aquí se señala que en el proceso de movilidad existe un anclaje constante el cual da pauta para una diferenciación desde las categorías de turistas y vagabundos. Este posicionamiento obedece a una aprehensión del enfoque teórico del sociólogo Zigmunt Bauman. El ejercicio se desarrolla desde tres experiencias particulares –por medio de entrevistas a profundidad-: los casos de María, Sandra, y Jorge (seudónimos); quienes no únicamente se han movilizado hacia ciudades de los Estados Unidos, sino que, a la vez, no son originarios de Ciudad Juárez, de donde partieron a los Estados Unidos en su momento. Por lo tanto, se destacan sus experiencias a partir de sus dos momentos de movilidades: la movilidad interna que es de ciudades mexicanas a Ciudad Juárez, y la externa, de Ciudad Juárez a ciudades de los Estados Unidos.

The present article is an approach to the condition of ambivalence as an experiential facet in those who migrate, in the sense in which the migrant thinks inside/otside both the site of origin and the site where they arrive. It is discuss out that in the mobility process there is a differentiation fron the categories of tourist and vagabonds. This obeys to an apprehension of the teorical approach of the sociologist Zigmunt Bauman. The exercise is developed from three particular experiences -throug interviews-: the cases of Maria, Sandra, and Jorge (pseudonyms); who have not only moved to cities in the United States but, at the same time, are not originally fron Ciudad Juarez, where they left for the United States at the time. Therefhore, their experiences are mentioned from their two moments of mobility: internal, which is from Mexican cities to Ciudad Juarez, and external, form Ciudad Juarez to cities in the United States.
