Independencia, participación y conflictividad. Venezuela. 1808-1830

Abstract

En el contexto de la actual revaloración de los estudios históricos, esta investigación precisa el carácter de la insurgencia, que los aquí considerados silenciados-, pardos(as), mestizos(as), mulatos(as) y negros(as) entre otros-, suscitan desde su cotidianidad tras los hechos ocurridos en Caracas el 19 de abril de 1810. En particular, se ocupa de la conflictividad manifiesta, y que por distintas vías les involucra en la vida política durante las primeras décadas del siglo XIX venezolano. El objetivo es de una parte, visibilizar las formas y maneras en las que el común de la gente, -las mayorías-, insurgen. De otra, develar sus valores, sus actitudes, sus prácticas y sus comportamientos; o lo que es lo mismo su cultura política. En definitiva, lo que se quiere es demostrar cómo la insurgencia manifiesta delineó, y en definitivo impulso entre 1808 y 1830, las luchas por la libertad e independencia en las provincias de la antigua Capitanía General de Venezuela.

In the context of the current revaluation of historical studies, this research specifies the character of the insurgency, which those considered silenced here-, brown, mestizos, mulattoes and blacks, among others- , arise from their daily lives after the events that occurred in Caracas on April 19, 1810. In particular, it deals with the manifest conflict, which in different ways involves them in political life during the first decades of the Venezuelan 19th century. The objective is, on the one hand, to make visible the forms and manners in which the common people, -the majorities-, insurge. On the other hand, reveal their values, their attitudes, their practices and their behaviors; or what is the same, its political culture. In short, what we want is to demonstrate how the manifest insurgency outlined, and ultimately promoted between 1808 and 1830, the struggles for freedom and independence in the provinces of the former Captaincy General of Venezuela.
