Ideas filosóficas y políticas en Rafael María Baralt

Abstract

Este texto destaca la falta de una narrativa crítica completa sobre las ideas filosóficas en América Latina, a pesar de la abundante literatura existente. La mayoría de los documentos conocidos se centran en recopilar contenidos “clásicos” o proporcionar visiones generales de la vida de intelectuales reconocidos, sin explorar nuevos enfoques. Se aboga por investigar el pensamiento después de la independencia, analizando su influencia en la historia nacional tumultuosa. El enfoque cualitativo y hermenéutico se utiliza para interpretar los textos en su contexto. El ensayo se centra en el pensamiento del venezolano Baralt, concluyendo que sus ideas filosóficas y políticas reflejan un pensamiento crítico que abraza ideales democráticos, fusionando valores cristianos, liberalismo y socialismo, este último visto como parte del futuro si se enfoca en la búsqueda de igualdad y justicia social.

Investigating post-independence thought requires expanding ideological frameworks and revealing diverse efforts to address challenges in the turbulent regional context. The text focuses on Venezuelan thinker Baralt, justifying his inclusion in the study. The qualitative methodology, particularly the hermeneutic method, interprets texts in context. The essay analyzes Baralt’s philosophical and political ideas, concluding that they reflect a critical era embracing democratic ideals within the Western tradition, interweaving Christian, liberal, and socialist values for a future focused on equality and social justice
