La propiedad privada de la Hacienda “El Banco” Municipio Sucre, Estado Zulia (1600-1830)

Abstract

En la presente investigación se analiza la evolución de la propiedad del suelo de la hacienda El Banco, Municipio Sucre del Estado Zulia, durante el periodo comprendido entre 1600-1833, en particular sobre los indicadores de asignación, instrumentos jurídicos y el proceso de trasmisión de la misma. El estudio se asienta sobre la revisión documental, bibliográfica y sobre las tradiciones orales que existen sobre el pasado de la hacienda de El Banco, en particular las que se resguardan en el Registro Principal del Estado Zulia (RPEZ), un expediente que muestra la tradición de la titularidad del suelo hasta 1833; en la Biblioteca Nacional Biblioteca Febres Cordero (BNBFC) y el Archivo General de la Nación Colombiana (AGNC), además de las relaciones de los cronistas. El análisis de esas fuentes está orientado a la descripción de la evolución de la propiedad del suelo y los propietarios de la Hacienda El Banco. El estudio se inscribe en la corriente de la historia agraria de las unidades de producción agrícola en Latinoamérica y en particular en Venezuela.

In the present investigation, the evolution of the land ownership of the El Banco hacienda, Sucre Municipality of the Zulia State, during the period between 1600-1833, is analyzed, in particular on the allocation indicators, legal instruments and the process of transmission of property. the same. The study is based on the documentary, bibliographic review and on the oral traditions that exist about the past of the El Banco hacienda, particularly those that are kept in the Main Registry of the Zulia State (RPEZ), a file that shows the tradition of land ownership until 1833; in the National Library Febres Cordero Library (BNBFC) and the General Archive of the Colombian Nation (AGNC), in addition to the reports of the chroniclers. The analysis of these sources is oriented to the description of the evolution of land ownership and the owners of Hacienda El Banco. The study is part of the current of agrarian history of agricultural production units in Latin America and particularly in Venezuela.
