Análisis de Redes Sociales (ARS): Estado del arte del caso mexicano.

Abstract

El objetivo central es presentar un estado del arte del análisis de redes sociales (ARS) y su aplicación en el ámbito mexicano. El trabajo se divide en tres partes. En la primera se exponen los antecedentes teóricos del ARS o enfoque de redes; en la segunda se destacan algunos conceptos centrales del ARS; en la tercera y última se revisan diversas investigaciones y autores que han empleado la metodología de redes para estudiar distintos problemas sociales, culturales, políticos y demográficos. Se concluye que el ARS ha contribuido a elevar el potencial analítico y explicativo de las Ciencias Sociales en el ámbito mexicano.

The main objective is to present a state of the art of social network analysis (SNA) and its application in the Mexican sphere. The work is divided in three parts. In the first, the theoretical background of the SNA or network approach is presented; in the second one, some central concepts of the SNA stand out; in the third and last one, several investigations and authors who have used the methodology of networks to study different social, cultural, political and demographic problems are reviewed. It is concluded that the SNA has contributed to raising the analytical and explanatory potential of the Social Sciences in Mexico.
