Inmigrantes sudamericanos en el mercado de trabajo formal en Brasil

Abstract

En los últimos años Brasil se ha convertido en un destino cada vez más atrayente ya no solamente para migrantes del continente latinoamericano, sino también para aquellos provenientes de países también pertenecientes al denominado sur global. Cabe destacar entre estos colectivos de migrantes a los argentinos, paraguayos, venezolanos, entre otros. Según datos de la Relação Anual de Informações Sociais (Rais), publicados por el Observatorio de las Migraciones Internacionales de Brasil, OBMigra, el ingreso de trabajadores inmigrantes en el mercado de trabajo formal brasilero registró un crecimiento de 131% en los primeros años de esta década. Proponemos realizar un análisis que define como criterio de recorte la inmigración de ciudadanos provenientes de los primeros países sudamericanos, en términos de presencia cuantitativa en Brasil, con el objetivo principal de comprender cómo son los movimientos y características de estos inmigrantes en el mercado formal de trabajo en Brasil, durante 2017. Fueron analizadas dos bases de datos del Ministerio de Trabajo de Brasil, Caged (Cadastro Geral de Empregados e Desempregados), permite observar los movimientos de contrataciones y dimisiones combinada a la base CTPS (Carteira de Trabalho e Previdência Social). A tales datos se agregan datos del stock de trabajadores inmigrantes extraídos de la Rais (Relação Anual de Informações Sociais). El análisis fue concentrado en el movimiento mensual y también en el stock de inmigrantes al cierre del año en cuestión

In recent years, Brazil has become an increasingly attractive destination not only for migrants from the Latin America, but also for those from countries also belonging to the global South. It is worth mentioning among these groups the Argentines, Paraguayans, Venezuelan, among others. According to data from the Relação Annual de Informações Sociais (RAIS), published by the Brazilian Observatory of International Migrations, OBMigra, the entrance of immigrant workers in the Brazilian formal labor market registered a growth of 131% in the first years of this decade. We propose to carry out an analysis that defines as a cut-off criterion the immigration of citizens from the first South American countries, in terms of quantitative presence in Brazil, with the main objective of understanding how the movements and characteristics of these immigrants are in the formal labor market in Brazil, in 2017. Two databases of the Ministry of Labor of Brazil, Caged (General Cadastre of Empregados e Desempregados), were analyzed, allowing to observe the movements of hiring and resignations combined to the CTPS base (Carteira de Trabalho e Previdência Social). To this data we add data of the stock of immigrant workers extracted from the Rais (Relação Anual de Informações Sociais). The analysis was concentrated in the monthly movement and in the stock of immigrants at the end of the year in question.
