Representaciones sociales acerca del ambiente en la escuela básica

Abstract

En la presente investigación se brinda una descripción y análisis de las representaciones sociales y discursos vigentes acerca de la Educación Ambiental en la Educación Básica Esta caracterización fue construida desde la observación etnográfica en una escuela en la ciudad de Trujillo E. B. Américo Briceño Valero durante el periodo escolar 2006-2007. Para el análisis de la información, la investigación se apoyó en los presupuestos metodológicos epistemológicos de Michel Foulcault. La descripción etnográfica permitió identificar algunas representaciones acerca del ambiente y reconocer prácticas educativas en las que dichas representaciones entran en juego. El análisis de los documentos oficiales; puesta en circulación de ciertos libros textos; discursos y prácticas sociales en el aula y de la instrumentalización de los programas, permitió interpretar esas representaciones. Se sostiene que las representaciones en tomo a la naturaleza y las relaciones que el hombre establece con ella, (ambiente) están signadas según el proyecto de las ciencias modernas que la fundamentan, particularmente, de la ecología Además, las prácticas educativas como prácticas sociales están mediadas por esas representaciones y por tanto, en el escenario escolar privan representaciones sociales que hacen que su enseñanza aprendizaje tenga efecto en las prácticas sociales.

In the present investigation, there is offered a description and analysis of social representations and existing discourses about environmental education in basic education. This characterization was done using ethnographic observation in the Americo Briceño Basic School of the city of Trujillo during the 2006-2007 school period. For the analysis of the information, this research rested on the Michel Foulcault methodological and epistemological premises. The ethnographic description allowed identifying some representations about the environment and recognizing educational practices in which such representations come into play. The analysis of official documents, putting into circulation of certain text books, speeches and social practices in the classroom, and the instrumentation of the programs permitted interpretation of those representations. It is held that the representations about the nature and the interactions that humankind establishes with it (environment) are distinguished according to the project of the modern sciences that support them, particularly, of the ecology science. In addition, educational practices as social practices are mediated by those representations, therefore, in the school scenario there are particular social representations whose teaching-learning process has effect on social practices.
