Discapacidad visual y auditiva. Conceptos, características e implicaciones.

Abstract

En este artículo se parte de la comprensión del papel de la visión y de la audición como sentidos primarios que permiten al ser humano trascender los límites físicos de su propio cuerpo para interactuar con el mundo circundante y, en consecuencia, se identifican las repercusiones que se derivan de determinada alteración en la estructura y funcionamiento de los órganos de la visión y la audición, respectivamente. Sobre la base de los resultados de la revisión bibliográfica realizada y de las reflexiones derivadas de la experiencia de los autores en este ámbito, se esbozan las razones que determinan la diversidad que, como característica inherente a cualquier grupo humano, también se manifiesta en la población con discapacidad visual y auditiva, cuestión que es indispensable considerar en el diseño y ajuste de la respuesta educativa y social a sus necesidades, atendiendo a las pautas que se sugieren en el texto que se presenta

This article starts from the understanding of the role of vision and hearing as primary senses that allow human beings to transcend the physical limits of their own body to interact with the surrounding world and, consequently, the repercussions that are They derive from a certain alteration in the structure and functioning of the organs of vision and hearing, respectively.
