La Violencia de Género en el Sistema Castrense

Abstract

El objeto de esta investigación fue analizar la violencia de género en el sistema castrense, considerando la incorporación de las mujeres a las fuerzas armadas, situación como avance en la igualdad de género, a pesar de ello; su integración plena plantea un desafío requiriendo que las mujeres desempeñen funciones de comando igual a los militares masculinos, esta incorporación debería abarcar tanto cambios institucionales como los contenidos de las políticas del sector militar. Se utilizó una metodología descriptiva cualitativa y un estudio etnográfico, describiendo el comportamiento del personal militar en relación a la participación de las mujeres dentro de la fuerza armada. Se concluyó que dentro del sistema castrense se presenta violencia de género que en su mayoría no se denuncia, por consecuencias disciplinarias, y en la violencia hacia las mujeres militares el sujeto activo tiene un grado o jerarquía superior al de la víctima. Se recomienda utilizar el presente trabajo para futuras investigaciones de violencia de género en el sistema castrense, además diseñar e implementar estrategias preventivas, sensibilización de la comunidad militar, realizar debates, que las mujeres militares conozcan sus derechos, y la institución debe multiplicar oficinas de atención de violencia de género para asistencia jurídica y psicológica

The aim of this research was to analyze gender-based violence in the military system, the incorporation of women in military field means a huge progress in gender equality, despite this, integration into the military field is still a challenge that requires that women to perform command functions as well as the male military, this incorporation should take both institutional changes and the content of military sector policies. Methodology used was qualitative, descriptive and ethnographic, describing the behavior of military personnel in relation to the participation of women within the armed forces. Concluding that into the military system there is gender-based violence most cases are not reported due to disciplinary consequences, and in violence against military women, the active subject has a higher rank or hierarchy than the victim. It is recommended to use the present work for future investigations of gender violence in military field, also design and implement preventive strategies, sensitization of the military community, make debates, military women should know their rights, and the institution must multiply offices of attention of gender violence for legal and psychological assistance
