Abstract

Voces vulnerables en los museos es una investigación documental sobre el desarrollo de la Museología de Derechos Humanos y el impacto que esta ha tenido en los museos actuales. Mediante los procesos curatoriales, la institución museística escoge qué mostrar y qué omitir cuando se construye una historia a partir de objetos culturales. Aunque muchos museos hoy se consideran imparciales y objetivos, aún debe insistirse en la gestión de métodos de activismo para la reivindicación de justicia social hacia los grupos vulnerables, que también forman parte de nuestras sociedades y varían de acuerdo a la región. De esta manera, la museología actual permitirá espacios con mayor información, donde se deconstruyen los mitos dañinos que no han podido ser reemplazados por los visitantes de museos.

Vulnerable voices in museums is a documentary research about the development of Human Rights Museology and the impact it has on current museums. Through curatorial proceedings, the museum institution chooses what to show and what to leave out when it builds a story with cultural objects. Although many museums today are considered fair and objective, they need to insist in the conduct of activism methods for the claiming of social justice to vulnerable groups that belong to our societies and vary according to the region. In the same manner, current Museology allows spaces with more information, where the harmful myths that couldn’t have been replaced by museum visitors are fi nally deconstructed.
