Nuevos Retos Geoestratégicos del Turismo en el Contexto del Desarrollo Sostenible: Perspectiva Social

Abstract

La geoestrategia es un término que reúne factores geográficos con elementos políticos los cuales deben ser tomados en cuenta para diseñar planes de desarrollo que permitan explotar racionalmente los recursos existentes en una comunidad. Una de las actividades económicas más lucrativas y con mayores perspectivas de beneficios es elturismo, lo que justifica explorar el potencial de esta actividad desde el campo de la geoestrategia. El presente artículo tiene por objetivo identificar los nuevos retos geoestratégicos de la actividad turística en el contexto del desarrollo sostenible, con perspectiva social. Para el logro del objetivo planteado se hizo uso de la metodología hermenéutica con predominio de fuentes documentales en formato digital, cuyo tema principal fue la relación entre la geoestrategia y el turismo, así como la promoción del turismo desde el desarrollo sostenible. Los resultados obtenidos permiten concluir que los principales retos geoestratégicos del turismo se relacionan con la necesidad de diseñar políticas que busquen la conservación de la naturaleza, el impulso de la sostenibilidad en las actividades turísticas, el desarrollo local de las comunidades y prevenir los peligros ambientales del calentamiento global, así como posibles escenarios de conflicto que influyan negativamente en el desarrollo de estas actividades

Geostrategy is a term that combines geographic factors with political elements that must be taken into account to design development plans to rationally exploit the existing resources in a community. One of the most lucrative and profitable economic activities is tourism, which justifies exploring the potential of this activity from the field of geostrategy. The objective of this article is to identify the new geostrategic challenges of tourism in the context of sustainable development, with a social perspective. In order to achieve the proposed objective, a hermeneutic methodology was used with a predominance of digital documentary sources, whose main theme was the relationship between geostrategy and tourism, as well as the promotion of tourism from a sustainable development perspective. The results obtained lead to the conclusion that the main geostrategic challenges of tourism are related to the need to design policies that seek the conservation of nature, the promotion of sustainability in tourism activities, the local development of communities and the prevention of the environmental hazards of global warming, as well as possible conflict scenarios that negatively influence the development of these activities
