Perspectivas gerenciales del capital social en contextos migratorios*

Abstract

En las recientes décadas, el fenómeno migratorio ha experimentado un crecimiento significativo, creando nuevos retos para las naciones receptoras, en particular en Suramérica. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo describir las perspectivas gerenciales del capital social en escenarios migratorios, resaltando su papel en la construcción de cohesión y sostenibilidad social. Se empleó una metodología cualitativa de tipo documental, con base en el análisis de literatura académica, informes institucionales y estudios de caso en Colombia, Perú, Ecuador y Chile. Los hallazgos muestran que las prácticas gerenciales orientadas al fortalecimiento del capital social, mediante iniciativas de organizaciones no gubernamentales, gobiernos locales y empresas, favorecen la creación de redes de apoyo, el liderazgo comunitario y la integración territorial de las personas migrantes. Sin embargo, persisten obstáculos significativos, como la desarticulación entre actores institucionales y la falta de estrategias integrales de inclusión. Se concluye que la gerencia, cuando se enfoca en potenciar el capital relacional, puede ser un instrumento esencial para promover la cohesión social y el bienestar colectivo en contextos marcados por la movilidad humana, fortaleciendo así la respuesta de los territorios ante los retos migratorios.

In recent decades, the migration phenomenon has experienced significant growth, creating new challenges for receiving nations, especially in South America. This paper aims to describe the managerial perspectives of social capital in migration scenarios, highlighting its role in building social cohesion and sustainability. A documentary-type qualitative methodology was employed, based on the analysis of academic literature, institutional reports, and case studies in Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, and Chile. The findings show that managerial practices aimed at strengthening social capital, through initiatives by non-governmental organizations, local governments and businesses, promote the creation of supportive networks, community leadership and territorial integration of migrant people. However, significant obstacles remain, such as disarticulation between institutional actors and the lack of comprehensive inclusion strategies. It is concluded that management, when focused on enhancing relational capital, can be an essential tool for promoting social cohesion and collective well-being in contexts marked by human mobility, thereby strengthening the response of territories to migration challenges.
