Manifiesto: “por un llamado a pensar y pensarnos desde lo nuestro”

Abstract

El presente documento describe la situación actual de realidad artística en Barranquilla y buena parte de Caribe Colombiano y asume una posición crítica ante la excesiva globalización y mercantilización del arte que tiende a homogeneizar las identidades locales y regionales en función de la demanda y oferta en el mercado. Entre las alternativas que se proponen destaca la definición de un conjunto de políticas culturales diseñadas de formas participativa en función de los intereses y necesidades de las comunidades de cultores, esta política debe poder rebasar la arquitectura estructural del sistema de la realidad actual que impone los criterios de autoconservación y fortalecimiento de este sector con políticas que sintonizan casi exclusivamente con las exigencias de un mercado global, cuya medida refleja lo que se pueda consumir, en un mercado de lo banal y efímero. Se concluye que la relación arte, organización política y pensamiento críticos es fundamental cuando se trata de producir arte de forma libre y creativa.

This document describes the current situation of artistic reality in Barranquilla and much of the Colombian Caribbean and assumes a critical position in the face of the excessive globalization and commodification of art that tends to homogenize local and regional identities according to demand and supply in the market. Among the alternatives proposed is the definition of a set of cultural policies designed in participatory ways according to the interests and needs of the communities of cultists, this policy must be able to go beyond the structural architecture of the system of current reality that imposes the criteria of self-conservation and strengthening of this sector with policies that tune almost exclusively with the demands of a global market, whose measure reflects what can be consumed, in a market of the banal and ephemeral. It is concluded that the relationship between art, political organization and critical thinking is fundamental when it comes to producing art freely and creatively.
