Protagonismo histórico desempeñado por barranquilla y la región caribe en la dinámica cultural de Colombia

Abstract

El objetivo de esta investigación es comprender el protagonismo histórico desempeñado por Barranquilla y la Región Caribe en la dinámica cultural de Colombia, en el marco de lo que representa el advenimiento de la constitución de 1991. Metodológicamente la investigación se desenvuelve en los dominios de la fenomenología- hermenéutica. Se concluye que, la realidad cultural del país acusa una fuerte presencia de la cultura regional del Caribe colombiano, en una suerte de tropicalización de la sociedad nacional, donde el personaje de la Costa, ya caracterizado o ya caricaturizado, está presente en todas las producciones de los medios y se rescatan o visibilizan acuarelas costumbristas de la región. Tal pareciera que la consideración Caribe no tomara sólo a la Costa Norte, sino a la condición bordeante del país en la cabecera norte del sur del continente americano como referente identitario de una región pujante históricamente.

The objective of this research is to explain the historic role played by Barranquilla and the Caribbean Region in the dynamics of Colombia, within the framework of what the cultural policies that are implemented since the advent of the 1991 constitution represent. Methodologically, the research develops in the domains of phenomenology-hermeneutics. It is concluded that the cultural reality of the country shows a strong presence of the regional culture of the Colombian Caribbean, in a kind of tropicalization of the national society, where the character of the Coast, already characterized or already caricatured, is present in all productions of the media and costumbristas watercolors of the region are rescued or made visible. It seems that the Caribbean consideration will not only take the North Coast, but the bordering condition of the country in the northern head of the south of the American continent as an identity reference of a region.
