Oferta académica y responsabilidad social inclusiva en privados de libertad: caso universidad abierta para adultos, república dominicana.

Abstract

El artículo presenta los resultados de un diagnóstico realizado a participantes Internos, acerca de la formación que ofrece la Universidad Abierta para Adultos (UAPA), como parte de su política de responsabilidad social e inclusión educativa, a privados de libertad. Su propósito: Analizar aspectos claves del funcionamiento del programa, que permita hacer mejoras, atender las necesidades de los beneficiarios directos y favorecer su implementación. Se emplearon los métodos de análisis y síntesis, el inductivo-deductivo y las técnicas de encuesta y grupo focal, a una muestra intencional de (34) participantes, de tres centros penitenciarios. Entre los principales resultados están: que existe un estado de satisfacción positivo por la oportunidad que les da la UAPA, de acceder a estudios superiores y tener una mayor posibilidad de insertarse en el mundo laboral, al cumplir su condena. Reconocen el seguimiento a situaciones presentadas ante la Institución, por ellos o sus familiares. Existe satisfacción por el seguimiento a las actividades académicas en el campus virtual, la aplicación de exámenes, el proceso de admisión, inscripción y pago de matrículas. Valoran positivamente la atención de los facilitadores y directivos de Escuelas, el Servicio Social y la Práctica Profesional. Como oportunidades de mejora señalaron: la necesidad de la retroalimentación oportuna de los facilitadores a las actividades de aprendizaje; que el Centro Penitenciario no garantiza totalmente las condiciones requeridas para desarrollar las actividades educativas, pues no siempre prestan atención a su reclamos, necesidades o sugerencias.

The article presents the results of adiagnosis carried out on the training offered by the Open University for Adults (UAPA), as part of its policy of social responsibility and educational inclusion, to inmates.Its purpose: To analyze key aspects of the program's operation, in order to make improvements, meet the needs of direct beneficiaries and promote its implementation.The methods of analysis and synthesis, inductive-deductive, survey and focus group techniques were used in an intentional sample of (34) participants from three penitentiary centers.Among the main results are: that there is a state of positive satisfaction with the opportunity that UAPA gives them to access higher education and have a greater chance of entering the labor market after serving their sentence. They recognize the follow-up to the situations presented to the institution by them or their families.There is satisfaction with the follow-up of academic activities in the virtual campus, the application of exams, the admission process, enrollment and payment of tuition. They positively value the attention of the facilitators and school directors, the Social Service and the Professional Practice.As opportunities for improvement, they pointed out: the need for timely feedback from the facilitators to the learning activities; that the Prison does not fully guarantee the conditions required to develop the educational activities, as they do not always pay attention to their complaints, needs or suggestions.
