Propuesta percibiendo braille y la fluidez lectora en adultos con ceguera

Abstract

Las personas adultas con ceguera adquirida para rehabilitarse optan por aprender el Sistema Braille, logran escribirlo y sin embargo evidencian significativa dificultad para leerlo, ante la circunstancia descrita la presente investigación tuvo como objetivo proponer el Programa Percibiendo Braille para mejorar la fluidez lectora en adultos con ceguera. Investigación enmarcada en el enfoque cuantitativo, con un diseño no experimental, de tipo proyecto factible, con un nivel descriptivo. La muestra estuvo constituida por 10 personas adultas con ceguera adquirida en el transcurso del ciclo de vida. La técnica de recolección de datos fue la observación directa y sus instrumentos el video y la lista de cotejo de la Escala de Fluidez Lectora en español. Los resultados obtenidos indican que el nivel de fluidez lectora, así como las dimensiones velocidad y prosodia se encuentran en un nivel inadecuado. Sin embargo, la dimensión precisión tiene un nivel bueno, ya que el lector despliega gran atención para reconocer palabras, esta conducta se manifiesta, por lo general, en lectores poco fluidos. Entre las conclusiones, se logró realizar la propuesta del Programa Percibiendo Braille para promover mejoras en la fluidez lectora de adultos con ceguera.

Adults with acquired blindness, in order to rehabilitate themselves, choose to learn the Braille System. In addition, although they manage to write it, however, there are significant difficulties in reading it. Inview of the circumstances described above, the present research aimed to propose the Perceiving Braille Program to improve reading fluency in adults with blindness.In order to fulfill the purpose outlined, the present research work used the quantitative approach, with a non-experimental design, of a feasible project type, with a descriptive level. The sample consisted of 10 adults with blindness acquired during their life cycle. The data collection technique was direct observation and the instruments used were the video and the Spanish Reading Fluency Scale checklist.The results obtained indicate that the reading fluency level, as well as the speed and prosody dimensions, are at an inadequate level. However, the accuracy dimension has a good level, because the reader displays great attention to recognize words, this behavior is usually manifested in readers who are not very fluent.Among the conclusions, it was possible to propose the Perceiving Braille Program to promote improvements in the reading fluency of adults with blindness.
