Efectividad de una intervención educativa sobre el cuidado a la usuaria con VIH, en los profesionales de enfermería, Emergencia Obstétrica, Instituto Autónomo Hospital Universitario de Los Andes, 2025

Abstract

Según la OMS (2024), la infección por el VIH ataca el sistema inmunitario, y el síndrome de inmunodeficiencia adquirida (sida) es la fase más avanzada de la enfermedad. Se transmite a través de los líquidos corporales de las personas infectadas. También puede transmitirse de madre a hijo durante el embarazo y el parto. Objetivo: Evaluar la efectividad de una intervención educativa sobre el cuidado a la usuaria con VIH, en los profesionales de enfermería de la emergencia obstétrica, Instituto Autónomo Hospital Universitario de Los Andes 2025. Metodología: La presente investigación tuvo un enfoque cuantitativo, con un diseño pre-experimental, la población fue de 56 profesionales de enfermería que laboran en el servicio de emergencia obstétrica del I.A.H.U.L.A, se realizó un muestreo no probabilístico a conveniencia, incluyendo a 33 profesionales de enfermería. Resultados: Los resultados antes y después de la intervención educativa, determinaron que la intervención educativa fue exitosa, los que obtuvieron en el pretest un nivel de conocimientos bajo (dos enfermeros) pasaron a un nivel medio en el postest, y 11 enfermeros que se encontraban en un nivel medio en el pretest pasaron a un nivel alto en el postest. Conclusión: Esta investigación reafirma la necesidad de implementar estrategias educativas periódicas dirigidas al personal de enfermería, con el fin de fortalecer sus competencias en el cuidado de usuarias con VIH en situaciones de emergencia obstétrica.

According to the WHO (2024), HIV infection attacks the immune system, and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is the most advanced stage of the disease. It is transmitted through the bodily fluids of infected individuals. It can also be transmitted from mother to child during pregnancy and childbirth. Objective: To assess the effectiveness of an educational intervention on the care of HIV-positive patients in obstetric emergency nursing professionals at the Autonomous Institute of the University Hospital of the Andes (IAHULA) in 2024. Methodology: This research adopts a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design. The population consisted of 56 nursing professionals working in the obstetric emergency service at IAHULA. A non-probabilistic convenience sampling method was used, including 33 nursing professionals. Results: The results before and after the educational intervention showed that the intervention was successful, as the two nurses who had a low knowledge level in the pretest moved to a medium level in the posttest, and 11 nurses who were at a medium level in the pretest moved to a high level in the posttest. Conclusion: This research reaffirms the need to implement periodic educational strategies aimed at nursing staff to strengthen their competencies in the care of HIV-positive patients in obstetric emergency situations.
