| en_US |
dc.description.abstract | Nowadays, the accelerated changes in the different areas of socialization that are the imminent result of the technological achievements in information and communication, and also the actual need of academic formation and actualization for professors have stated the search of a crucial change in the transmission of new knowledge. To this respect, UNESCO (1998) has strongly influenced several countries to start working on new educational politics that can have positive implications for the pedagogical practice. As an alternative, this qualitative study based on investigation-action emerged to put in practice and value the impact of the module called “English as a Communicative Fact and Human Process” in a formal course diploma in a balanced academic context between classes and on- line-guided sessions. This educational module was exclusively oriented to English professors graduated from different areas and it was implemented with the participation of eleven professors from Portuguesa state and with the support of the Moodle Platform of the Faculty of Education of the University of Carabobo (Fa- CE-UC). The use of on-line guided sessions allowed fully optimizing what Gadamer (2000) called the base of the historical and cultural knowledge of those professionals. It also allowed evaluating the influence that the previous knowledge of English has as a foreign language on their pedagogical action, and considering the importance of the linguistic structures that they teach in their main role as part of the great educational change. To sum up, the academic actualization of the English teacher in a balanced context of classes and on- line guided sessions allowed contextualizing and legitimating their pedagogical performance in their educational institutions to go further in the achievement of the high standard of quality and equity of the Venezuelan educational system. | en_US |
