El multimétodo en el quehacer investigativo de las Ciencias Sociales ¿alternativa o paradoja?

Abstract

En los últimos años se han generado en diversos escenarios científicos y académicos disputas frente a la posibilidad o alternativa de realizar investigación en Ciencias Sociales a través del multimétodo. El presente artículo tiene como finalidad analizar las posturas de diversos autores en torno a este tema como integración metodológica en la investigación. La modalidad de revisión documental procura brindar algunas luces en cuanto al esclarecimiento de su significancia, implicancia, conveniencia en la práctica investigativa, cuyo análisis de contenido permite un acercamiento al tema, centrando su atención en la alternativa que involucra el uso del multimétodo en la profundización reflexiva del conocimiento del objeto, mediante el aporte independiente de cada enfoque. Además, en la paradoja que resultaría su implementación sino se contempla la argumentación teórica metodológica que lo explique. Se concluye que el multimétodo debe corresponder a la situación en estudio y la articulación coherente del marco metodológico a través de estrategias técnico operativas que ofrece ambos enfoques.

In recent years, disputes have arisen in various scientific and academic scenarios regarding the possibility or alternative of conducting research in the social sciences using multimethods. The purpose of this article is to analyze the positions of various authors on multimethods as a methodological integration in research. The documentary review modality seeks to shed some light on the clarification of its significance, implication and convenience in research practice, whose content analysis allows an approach to the subject, focusing attention on the alternative that involves the use of multimethods in the reflexive deepening of the knowledge of the object, through the independent contribution of each approach. Furthermore, in the paradox that would result from its implementation if the methodological theoretical argumentation that explains it is not contemplated. It is concluded that the multimethod should correspond to the situation under study and the coherent articulation of the methodological framework through technical-operational strategies offered by both approaches.
